교수 사칭 악성메일 주의 <교내 사례 포함>
최근 교수님을 사칭한 이메일로 학생(외국인)에게 금전적 피해를 입힌 사기 사건이 발생하여 이를 공지하니, 각별한 주의를 당부합니다.
▶ 사건의 개요
1) 피해자 학생의 개인 메일(gmail)로 금전을 요구하는 교수사칭 메일(gmail)이 수신
2) 해당 메일은 사정상 (대면이나 전화가 아닌) 메일로만 소통할 것을 요구
3) 급박한 상황임을 강조하며 1시간 이내로 구글 기프트 카드를 근처 편의점에서 구입하여 고유코드 확인 후 전송할 것을 지시
4) 긴급한 상황으로 오인한 피해자 학생은 메일에 응하여 20만원어치의 기프트 카드를 3차례에 걸쳐 구입해 보내며, 총 60만원의 피해 발생
사기 사건은 피해 당사자가 되면 당황하여 정상적인 대처가 어려울 수 있습니다. 의심가는 접근 시도는 분별해 낼 수 있도록 평소 경각심을 가져야 하겠습니다.

We would like to inform you of a recent fraud case that caused financial damage to a student (foreigner) through an e-mail impersonating a professor, so we ask for your special attention.

1) An email (gmail) impersonating a professor requesting money was received through the victim's personal email (gmail).
2) Due to circumstances, this email required to communicate only by e-mail (not face-to-face or telephone)
3) Emphasizing the urgent situation, instructs to purchase Google gift cards from nearby convenience stores within an hour, check the unique code, and send them.
4) The victim, who was mistaken for an urgent situation, purchases and sends gift cards worth 200,000 won three times in response to the email, causing a total of 600,000 won in damage
Fraud cases can be embarrassed when you become a victim and it can be difficult to deal with them normally. You should be always alert so that you can discern suspicious approaches.
